NEW: Daughters of a New Age | doana.today
Daughters of a New Age
A couple of years ago, I read a research paper on women’s ministry in the early Methodist Church of Singapore. One of the conclusions of the paper is that women have always been there, doing the work of discipling and evangelism, serving the church and unchurched. However, because church documents tend to focus on the words and activities of church leaders, who were mostly male, the record of the faithful service of women in the church is often missing or “forgotten”.
As a small way to contribute to the growth of women's ministry in the local church, I thought about creating an online resource centre for Christian women to be encouraged and equipped by faithful, biblical writing. Over the past month, I brainstormed with Gwen about it and we came up with a name: Daughters of a New Age. The key idea is that being a daughter of God is fundamental to all the other identities women have to juggle in their day-to-day lives: a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a friend, and a woman.
The website is now live and accessible at doana.today. It currently has over 100 curated articles on issues ranging from the joy of older women mentoring younger women to the trials of being a pastor’s wife. These articles are meant to be conversation partners on topics like career, infertility, and relationships with other women—topics which may not be addressed at a typical Sunday church gathering.
Please pray that God will bless this project and that He will use it for His good purposes. I am looking to “hand off” this project to subject matter experts who are keen to read and curate articles for the website. So if you know of anyone who might be interested in exploring this area of service, please let me know!
As always, all of this work is made possible by the financial supporters of Minute Gospel. Thank you for your contributions!
